The Darwin 150 project – Help finding 1 million on facebook

Year 2009 is special for evolution, recently we celebrated Charles Darwin’s 200th Birthday on 12th feb and on 24th November it will be 150 years of his magnum opus “on origin of species”.Ever since its first publication in 1859 where he explained his remarkable theory of evolution by Natural selection, which even 150 years of publication still inspiring many scientists to understand completely how life originated and evolved on our planet.

As we approach the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin’s masterpiece, On the Origin of Species, many people are joining to celebrate this special year and make it even memorable.One of them are the people from “The Darwin 150 project“.n53320310123_5057

They are conducting a series of lectures to educate people on insights from Darwin’s origin of species.The series is free for all to participate in – live in person, by phone and, in some cases, web.

# Lecture 2 with Pulitzer Prize-winner Jonathan Weiner
# Lecture 3 with Professor Sean Carroll
# Lecture 4 with Professor E.O. Wilson

The Darwin 150 project’s goal is to find 1 million members on facebook by November 24, 2009.As “On the Origin of Species” is one of the most important books with some of the biggest ideas in the last 2,500 years, it certainly deserves to be one of the biggest groups on Facebook. so please join the group and encourage all your friends and family and colleagues to do the same:
