Best science writers

Lot of hard work goes into planning and performing the experiments to unravel biological mysteries. All that will be less meaningful, if the research done is not put well across to the intended readers. Unfortunately that will be the case if the data is not presented or written in a proper manner. That is why writing or presenting your results also becomes quite important aspect in the life of a scientist along with planning experiments.

To be honest science at highest level gets slightly difficult to understand especially if its not directly related to your field of research. But things can become simple when written in an easy and understandable manner. There are many things which takes to be good science writer, listed below are few things :
1 ) Hard work 2) Ability to present results in a concise and accurate manner 3 ) Strong command on the language 4) Unique way of presentation.

I believe writing science or for that matter in any field can be improved by attending workshops but some people are naturally gifted with this art of excellent writing and if you add loads of hard work to that,The result will be a best science writer and we will talk about few of them in this post. Today i read on Ryan Gregory’s blog about some of the best science writers we have today and there is also a discussion going on Brain Switek’s Laelaps , so i thought of also coming out with my list of best science writers in the blogosphere. Here is my list of Best writers ( I am sure there are many other excellent writers explaining science with their unique style , which i am not aware of due to shortage of time. Most often held up with experiments to complete my PhD and once this will be done in few months , i can spend more time on researching about more science writers also)

The first name comes to mind is that of Carl Zimmer ,then it will be Ed yong of Not exactly rocket science and PZ Myers ( whenever he writes about science research, I believe being a professor at university helps him putting things across to the audience in an easy and understandable manner. Hope more professors should follow him in starting a blog).Other excellent writers include Ryan Gregory , Larry Moran, Brain Switek and Christie lynn of observation of a Nerd

Its generally said that the more you read well-written pieces, the easier writing will become for you. So i am on right track but quite far away for sure , but hope to keep improving.

(I would be happy if you can leave the names of your favorite science writers in the comment section)
