THE ALZHEIMER’S PROJECT on HBO

Alzheimer’s is the second most-feared illness in America, following cancer, and may affect as many as five million Americans. Currently, there are approximately 5 million AD patients in US and the total direct/indirect cost is $148 billion/year. As of now there is no cure for the disease ,THE ALZHEIMER’S PROJECT shows there is now genuine reason to be optimistic about the future. HBO is presenting a series of documentaries that are aimed to change how general people think of Alzheimer’s disease and also encourage everyone to put their efforts into finding a solution for the dreaded disease.
THE ALZHEIMER’S PROJECT features a four-part documentary series, 15 short supplemental films, a robust website, and a nationwide community-based information and outreach campaign.

Science is taking huge steps forward is overcoming this danger and THE ALZHEIMER’S PROJECT shows there is now genuine reason to be optimistic about the future. All films will stream free of charge on hbo.com and will be offered for free on multiple platforms by participating television service providers.
