Phd and post doc positions 2009
Just posting some phd and post doc openings in different labs (as many are lying in my mailbox ) Hope it helps someone.
1) PhD and Post-doctoral Positions in the lab of Richard Benton (Center for Integrative Genomics ,University of Lausanne ). They looking for candidates experienced in electrophysiology. To apply please send a cover letter describing your scientific achievements and interests, a CV and contact details for 2 or more referees to: Richard.Benton @ unil.ch
Lab interest :
Our experimental focus is the olfactory system of the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. Drosophila is a genetically tractable model organism that displays a rich repertoire of chemosensory-driven behaviours under the control of a relatively simple nervous system. Combining genomics and genetics, molecular and cellular biology, electrophysiology and behavioural analysis, we aim to dissect the sense of smell from the gene, to the neuron, to the circuit, to the behaviour.

2) NEUROSCIENCE – A NEW PhD PROGRAM IN PARIS – PARIS SCHOOL OF NEUROSCIENCE (ENP)
he Paris School of Neuroscience « ENP » is a network of outstandingneuroscience laboratories in the Paris area, within major universities andresearch institutes.
ENP aimsat facilitating graduate training of selected students in the Paris area.
It covers all areas of Neuroscience and associated methodologies, fromfundamental to clinical and from molecular to cognitive.
Pre-PhD and PhD programs are open to highly talented and motivated students, who received their
undergraduate training outside of France, irrespective of their originaldisciplines.
More details can be found at their website:

3) Post-doctoral position : Research Group on Pancreas Organogenesis and tumorigenesis in zebrafish
A two-year post-doctoral position is available for a motivated scientist interested in developmental biology and more particularly in pancreas organogenesis. The main research theme of our laboratory is to understand the molecular mechanisms controlling pancreas development using zebrafish as animal model. To learn more about the research interests , please visit the web site http://www.lbmgg.ulg.ac.be/
Good luck to those who wish to apply!!!
