Darwin around the web
2009 is the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth and 150 years after he published On the Origin of Species and many magazines, blogs and channels are coming out with some very interesting facts about the genius of evolution to celebrate these two anniversaries. So here i am sharing some interesting links from various sites :
Sciencenews has a special Web edition which includes expanded versions of articles from the magazine’s print edition plus two additional features, all commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Unfortunately many are for the subscribers but some can be read by non subscribers as well.

As many might know already about the blog “Origins -A history of beginnings” by Science magazine ,where some prolific writers and editors, apart from guest researchers and blog readers, are sharing their thoughts, not just about the origin of species but also about key nodes throughout the evolution of life, just as Darwin did. Started on Jan 8, 2009 -Origins already has some excellent collection of articles on evolution and genius of evolution. Keep checking this site for some exciting stuff .

Richard Dawkings has an article in Free enquiry titled “The Power of Darwin” and also dont forget to read Larry Morgan’s take on that article. Larry has nicely summarized his thoughts on Darwin and natural selection.
The Voyage of Charles Darwin is the 1978 BBC production of Darwin’s journey on the Beagle. It is a fantastic explanation of the story of how he arrived at his theories and nicely depicted in less than 10 episodes . All episodes can be watched at Veoh
